Visiting the North Carolina Coast

North Carolina’s stunning coastline will yield an unmatched array of things to see, places to visit, and events and festivals to check out. During the fall, winter, and into the spring, the cities and towns along the NC coast are inviting and full of fun. Plan your visit to NC’s coast soon and prepare for unrivaled entertainment.

The NC coast stretches from Elizabeth City, just along the NC-VA border, to as far south as Wilmington, a short drive from the NC-SC border – with a host of must-see attractions and seaside pit stops along the way. In Wilmington you can explore the historic Battleship North Carolina, and when you cruise through Kill Devil Hills, you must check out the Wright Brothers National Monument.

An autumn stay in Wilmington this October should yield fun-filled days for all members of the group. Visit from October 21st to 23rd and experience the annual Wilmington Fall Festival. Held at the Hubb’s Farm, this fall celebration will be awash in a “Pirates Playground” theme with maze trails, a petting zoo, huge barrel slides, and even a haunted trail.

One of Wilmington’s premier fall events is all about film. Check out the 22nd Annual Cucalorus Film Festival from November 9th to 13th. Screenings, panel discussions, and more events will be held at venues across downtown Wilmington – more than 200 films are set to be screened at this year’s event.

Plan your visit to the NC coast for early 2017 and kick off the new year with classic tunes. Head for Thalian Hall in Wilmington on January 28th and see David Cassidy live in concert. This Partridge Family legend will perform two shows – 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

A classic tale of good versus evil, and true love, Rodger’s & Hammerstein’s Cinderella will be performed live in Wilmington. From February 28th to March 1st, this classic stage play will be performed at the Wilson Center with nightly shows at 7:30 p.m. And just a few weeks later, the same Wilson Center will host the world-famous production “Stomp!” On March 22nd this garbage pile-themed music and dance performance hits the stage at 7:30 p.m.
